Help for tenants

Tenants may need to deal with their landlord about an electricity, gas or water supply issue. Tenants have different rights and responsibilities in relation to water accounts, electrical or plumbing repairs, and meter access.

For further information download our Advice for tenants fact sheet, or contact your local Tenants' Advice and Advocacy Service for free advice and assistance.

Legal advice

If you need legal advice, Community Legal Centres (CLCs) may be able to help you. CLCs are independent, non-profit community organisations providing free legal advice, information and referrals for individuals and communities across New South Wales.

Some centres provide legal advice over the phone, and hold interview and advice sessions after business hours. For further information and contact details of a centre near you, visit the Combined Community Legal Centres NSW website.
