Ways to save
Energy saving
The NSW Department of Water and Energy (DWE) is responsible for encouraging energy efficiency in homes and businesses throughout the state.
DWE have developed an Energy Smart website to provide advice to consumers on ways to reduce energy usage. The site includes a range of tips that are easy to implement around your home and business.
Audit your home
AGL has created an interactive advice tool that you can use to estimate the cost of electricity and gas used in your home.
After you enter information on how you use energy around your home, the tool will calculate the average cost of running each appliance (prices will differ slightly if you are supplied by a different energy company) and estimate your annual energy bill.
This audit is an estimate only and will not necessarily equal the exact amount of electricity and gas used. The audit can also give you tips for saving energy around your home and reducing your accounts.

High bills
EWON can help you if you disagree with the amount of your electricity or gas bill. In some cases we may identify an error made by your energy company. In other cases we can provide information to help consumers understand and manage their energy usage.
Generally, we would expect you to have tried to sort out your high bill complaint with your electricity or gas supplier first. Before contacting them, have a look at some of our tips for dealing with your supplier.
If you dispute your high bill and still require help after contacting your electricity supplier, contact us or use our online complaint form.
