Our Ombudsman, Janine Young, is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Ombudsman Association (ANZOA). Established in 2003, ANZOA membership is personal to the Ombudsman and its members come from not-for-profit industry-based, parliamentary and other statutory external dispute resolution offices to include organisational leaders who perform the same independent role in positions such as Complaints Commissioners. ANZOA provides a very valuable peer forum of members who meet accepted high standards of independence, impartiality and effectiveness and observe the Benchmarks for Industry-Based Customer Dispute Resolution (the CDR Benchmarks).

EWON is an active member of ANZEWON, Australia & New Zealand Energy and Water Ombudsman Network. The aim of the network is to share information (e.g. training, systems, processes), and systemic issues arising from complaints. The network works towards as much consistency as possible between schemes.
