EWON received 4,444 complaints in April – June 2023, an increase of 2.2% compared to the previous quarter. However, complaints were 25.9% higher than the same quarter last year. Last year we saw a big jump in complaints from the April to June 2022 quarter to the July to September 2022 quarter.

This suggests we are likely to see a similar jump this year, with complaints already trending upwards in July 2023. We expect price increases, affordability and high bills to continue driving complaints over the coming months, as many customers receive their first bills at increased prices, coinciding with winter energy use. We hope the forthcoming National Energy Debt Relief payments alleviate some of this pressure on eligible households.
