Community Workers Forum 2026

High energy bills continue to challenge communities who are already struggling with the cost of living. Smart meters, new tariffs and complex bills are making it harder for many households to stay engaged, informed and keep the power on.

We're inviting you to the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW’s (EWON) 2026 Community Workers Forum in Port Macquarie. The Forum will unpack how industry changes are playing out on the ground, and what the risks are for customers who are already doing it tough. And we’ll explore who is in danger of being left behind as the energy transition gains momentum.

We’ll discuss new practical steps community workers and EWON can take to help clients and customers navigate bills, access support and stay connected – now and into the future. Expect real-world insights and honest conversations about affordability, disconnections and emerging solutions in a changing energy landscape.

Make sure to get your ticket! Register for the Forum

This will be an interactive forum with plenty of time for Q&A. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Attendees will hear perspectives from:

  • First Nations communities

  • Energy providers including natural disaster response, disconnection and life support

  • Seniors' organisations

  • Mental health and resilience building organisations and more.
