ABC News - Ombudsman speaks about recent floods

ABC North Coast interviewed our Ombudsman Janine Young about flood related complaints from customers in the Clarence Valley and North Coast, including Lismore.

EWON has received dozens of complaints about high energy bills and estimated bills issued in flood-affected areas for empty premises. 

"When estimates are done, the rules allow an estimated bill based on the same period the prior year, or on what a comparable customer might be. When there's been floods and there's been no usage, if you're getting an estimate based on the prior year, that's completely wrong."
