EWON featured in CHOICE Article

Leading consumer advocate CHOICE featured NSW Energy and Water Ombudsman, Janine Young in one of their latest articles on the rise in complaints about estimated energy bills.

Janine is quoted about the increase in complaints from estimated bills and the importance of customers receiving accurate bills to make informed decisions about their energy use. She also states how overall billing complaints make up around 60% of all complaints we receive.

The article includes case studies and outlines how a related survey was conducted in January by Choice. The survey identified people overcharged on their bill, and reported that of the three quarters (74%) that queried their bill with their retailer, 38% say it was difficult or very difficult to get their bill rectified.

Clare Savage, chair of the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) is also quoted in the article about how COVID lockdowns and surges resulted in estimated usage becoming more common.

Choice have been around for over 60 years, advocating for consumer rights, making shopping easier, testing products and giving unbiased advice about food, finance and health so take a look at our inclusion in one of their articles.
