ABC News interviewed our Ombudsman Janine Young about daily supply charges and how they are set by energy retailers – with no maximum limit. Retailers recoup at least the network charge, set by the AER but they can charge above that amount. 

We advise customers to not only compare the price of energy per kw but also the supply charges to get the best deal. Customers can ask their energy provider about charges and compare deals easily via www.energymadeeasy.gov.au If they are not happy with the result then call on 1800 246 545 or lodge a complaint with us online.
