Campaign messages and resources
Our ‘Mob Matters’ campaign is designed to increase awareness of energy and water issues among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Learn more about the campaign and download campaign materials.
Background
To create this campaign we teamed up with well-known Aboriginal comedian, Sean Choolburra. Sean has been a supporter of EWON’s work since he became aware of our services when he took part in the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office funded Tenant Support and Education Project that EWON was involved in for over two years from 2016/2017.
Key campaign messages
Energy savings
- Consider using fans instead of air conditioning to save energy and money.
- Use energy and water wisely.
- Use energy saving lights bulbs and turn lights off when you leave a room.
Minimising debt
- Avoid large debt and disconnection by making regular payments on energy and water accounts.
Support available
- There is a range of support available to help with energy bills, including government rebates and payment assistance and provider payment plans.

Community Service Announcements
The following 30 second community service announcements are available as part of the summer release. They are being made available to community radio stations via satellite services.
